     药明康德/报道

Amgen is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics. This approach begins by using tools like advanced human genetics to unravel the complexities of disease and understand the fundamentals of human biology.

The Amgen Post-Doctoral Program is committed to providing future scientists with an enriching environment to inspire innovation that will contribute to the development of human therapeutics.

Amgen’s Neuroscience Research Therapeutic Area based in Cambridge, MA is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the role of glial cells and the complement system on tau aggregation characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease. This is part of a collaboration with Dr. Cynthia Lemere of Brigham & Women’s Hospital (BWH) and the successful candidate will work both, at Amgen as well as at BWH to implement multiple in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. These techniques include molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and the use of mouse models of disease.

The tenure for this postdoc role is 2-years with the option to renew for an additional year; for a total of three years.

     Key responsibilities include:

Design and execute experimental strategies to understand the role of glial cells and the complement system on protein aggregation, especially tau protein

Establish in vitro cell cellular assays including phagocytosis, clearance and aggregation (cell lines and/or iPSC and primary mouse brain cells)

Tissue collection from mouse models of disease

Implementation of multiple state-of-the-art techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, histology, FACs, microscopy, RNA isolation for RNAseq, and qPCR

Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results at lab meetings at both locations

     Publish/present findings in peer-reviewed journals/scientific conferences

Maintain accurate records of experiments and analyses

Maintain effective communication with manager and other colleagues at both, Amgen and BWH

     Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. at the time of appointment

     Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field at the time of appointment

Previous first-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals

Ability to meet aggressive timelines and deliverables in a collaborative environment

Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills

     Strong analytical and organizational skills

     Willingness to work independently

Amgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
