     《如果》是史上最年轻的诺贝尔文学奖得主——英国作家拉迪亚德·吉卜林在1909年写给自己的儿子约翰的一首诗，承载了一个父亲对儿子的殷切期望。1910年首次见于其短篇及小说集BrotherSquare Toes chapter of Remard andFairies。

     此诗曾在1995年被推选为年度“最受英国人喜爱的诗歌”。因为“它不单单是给予孩子忠告的诗句，而且适合在人生的任何阶段给任何人听——如果你愿意聆听。”

     如果你能冷静，即便周围的所有人

     都已丧失理智，并把责任推卸给你；

     如果你能自信，即便周围的所有人

     都怀疑你，而你对此也不心存芥蒂；

     If you can keep your head when all about you

     Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

     If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,But make allowance for their doubting too;

     如果你能等待，而不为此失去耐性，或者面对谎言诬蔑，不以谎言反击，或者被人忌恨，不让仇恨占据心灵，不高谈阔论，也不表现得忘乎所以；
