波士顿爱乐乐团著名指挥Benjamin Zander在TED的演讲《Classical Music and Shining Eyes 古典音乐和闪亮的眼睛》弹奏了这首曲子。
“所以，这就是从远方回家的曲子。我这就来把它从头到尾的演奏一遍。你会跟随这琴声，B, C, B, C, B, C, B– 到A，到G，到F 马上就要到E了，可是曲子那样会结束。于是他回到B，这里变的很激动，到F声调，到E。可是是错的和弦，错的和弦，错的和弦。终于它弹到了E，那里是家。“
So now you’re going to follow the line all the way from B to E. And I’ve one last request before I play this piece all the way through. Would you think of somebody who you adore, who’s no longer there? A beloved grandmother, a lover, somebody in your life who you love with all your heart, but that person is no longer with you. Bring that person into your mind, and at the same time follow the line all the way from B to E, and you’ll hear everything that Chopin had to say.

第一次看这段演讲的时候，到这里，跟着Zander的手指，从B到E，听了这段Chopin，眼泪无声地在脸颊上流淌了下来。
所以，让我们心中想着一个，在你生命中，让你用尽全心去爱的人，但是他/她已经不在了，把他/她放在你的脑海中，一起来听一遍这首《Prelude in E Minor Op.28》
我们为什么要听古典音乐，这段演讲在国内翻译有个不太确切的标题《音乐与激情》，然而，的确是，音乐唤醒了每个人内心未曾熄灭的火花，唤醒了我们对于生命的敏感。
古典音乐是能量级数特别高的震动频率，就好像Zander说的那样，这是关于“回家”的音乐。

You have a fantastic ear. Everybody has a fantastic ear. So nobody is tone deaf.

I was in Ireland during the Troubles 10 years ago, and I was working with some Catholic and Protestant kids on conflict resolution. And I did this with them. A risky thing to do because they were street kids. And one of them came to me the next morning and he said, “You know, I’ve never listened to classical music in my life, but when you played that shopping piece….” He said, “My brother was shot last year and I didn’t cry for him. But last night when you played that piece, he was the one I was thinking about. And I felt the tears streaming down my face. And you know, it felt really good to cry for my brother.”So I made up my mind at that moment that classical music is for everybody. Everybody.

And you know how you find out? You look at their eyes. If their eyes are shining, you know you’re doing it.You could light up a village with this guy’s eyes. Right. So if the eyes are shining, you know you’re doing it. If the eyes are not shining, you get to ask a question. And this is the question: Who am I being that my players’ eyes are not shining? We can do that with our children too. Who am I being that my children’s eyes are not shining? That’s a totally different world.

And you know, I have a definition of success. For me it’s very simple. It’s not about wealth and fame and power. It’s about how many shining eyes I have around me.

甚至，我怀疑，世界上最不走心去观看艺术作品的人，就是那群艺术市场上的从业人员。他们一本正经地胡说八道，他们高高在上的姿态用人们赋予的专业信任评论着，操控和主宰着市场，却不曾真正观看艺术本身。
而往往最打动我的是，有时候在布展的那些工人们，趁着休息，在认真地看作品，读诗框里的句子，甚至还有自己的评论。所以“那一刻起，我就坚信，艺术可以打动每一个人，每一个人。”并且更加坚定了我策展只是为了公众教育普及传播美和光明，而不是为了所谓的“精英”阶层。
不要为了名利而亵渎艺术创作，我发誓不为了名利而从事这个行业。那么，我们也应该问自己一个问题，我们从事艺术到底为了什么？这段演讲说出了我想说的话：不是财富，名誉，权利，是我们能够点亮多少双闪光的眼睛。
Why we create arts? Not for wealth,fame and power, about for delighting people's shining eyes.
到了某个年纪，你会意识到，我们要做的，不仅是意思的事情，而更要做有意义的事情。

演讲的最后，Zander讲了一个故事。让我们来一起听一首最近和我们这个世界告别的游吟诗人Leonard Cohen的歌《Dance me to the end of Love》来看这个故事。我不想追热点来写一篇朋友圈已经泛滥的文章来纪念，就在这里静静地用自己的方式缅怀。
为什么要听着这首歌来看这个故事？因为这首歌和这个故事一样，背景都是奥斯威辛集中营。
出生犹太家庭的Cohen用这首歌讲述了一个发生在纳粹集中营的故事--纳粹强迫乐师们在焚化炉前演奏音乐，惊恐痛苦的乐师演奏着欢乐的婚礼乐曲，一对对囚犯在音乐声中走向焚化炉。
So now I have one last thought, which is that it really makes a difference what we say. The words that come out of our mouth. I learned this from a woman who survived Auschwitz, one of the rare survivors. She went to Auschwitz when she was 15 years old, and her brother was eight, and the parents were lost. And she told me this, she said, “We were in the train going to Auschwitz and I looked down and saw my brother’s shoes were missing. And I said, “Why are you so stupid, can’t you keep your things together for goodness’ sake?” — the way an elder sister might speak to a younger brother. Unfortunately, it was the last thing she ever said to him because she never saw him again. He did not survive.
And so when she came out of Auschwitz, she made a vow. She told me this. She said, “I walked out of Auschwitz into life and I made a vow. And the vow was, I will never say anything that couldn’t stand as the last thing I ever say.”Now, can we do that? No. And we’ll make ourselves wrong and others wrong. But it is a possibility to live into. Thank you. Shining eyes, shining eyes. Thank you, thank you.
奥斯威辛集中营的鞋子
我有最后一个想跟大家分享的想法，就是我们的话语造成的不同。我们嘴里说出来的话有没有造成不同。我从一个在奥斯威辛集中营活下来的女士那里学到了这个。她是少数的幸存者之一。她在15岁的时候被关进了奥斯威辛集中营。那时她的弟弟8岁，他们的父母都被杀害了。她告诉了我这个，她说， “我们在去奥斯威辛的火车上，我低头的时候发现我弟弟的鞋不见了。我很生气，说，”你怎么这么笨，看在上帝的份上，你就不能看好你自己的东西吗？”——用一种大姐会和弟弟说话的方式。不幸的是，这是她对她弟弟说的最后一句话。她再也没有见过她弟弟。他没有幸存下来。
